At the upcoming Next Generation Internet Summit SHERPA’s artist-in-residence Tijmen Schep is launching his latest work called “How Normal Am I”. This online interactive documentary judges your face through your webcam and explains how face detection algorithms are invisibly pervading our lives. Can we really assess someone’s beauty, BMI, or even life expectancy from just a photo of their face?
Tijmen is part of the Sherpa consortium, a Horizon 2020 research program that is categorizing what AI issues the European Union will face in 2025. After experiencing his creations, the talk will dive into the ‘making of’ and emerge with a better understanding of what face detection AI can – and cannot – do.
The summit will be held online and is free to join. Tijmen will speak on Monday the 28th of September between 17 and 18 o’clock.
